Israeli Soccer League Sets New Attendance Record

The Israeli Premier League, known as Ligat Ha'al, has set a new attendance record, with over 96,000 spectators attending matches across the league on Friday and Saturday. This figure surpasses the previous record of 83,276 attendees.

The record was broken during the fifth week of the season. Specific attendance numbers for individual matches included: Hapoel Tel Aviv vs. Hapoel Petah Tikva with 20,692, Maccabi Haifa vs. Ironi Tiberias with 26,213, Maccabi Netanya vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv with 12,211, Hapoel Be'er Sheva vs. Hapoel Kiryat Shmona with 12,488, Beitar Jerusalem vs. Hapoel Haifa with 21,627, Bnei Sakhnin vs. Hapoel Ramat Gan with 1,247, and Maccabi Petah Tikva vs. Hapoel Jerusalem with 1,568.

Erez Halfon, chairman of the League Management, expressed his excitement and pride, stating, "I am excited and proud to see the fans voting with their feet and filling the stadiums in droves so early in the season." He added that breaking the attendance record by the fifth week is a "badge of honor for Israeli football" and indicates "tremendous interest, competitiveness, and full public confidence in the Winner League." Halfon also noted the presence of "tens of thousands of women, men, children, and entire families choosing to come to the stadiums and create an exceptional atmosphere in the stands even before the season's peak moments."
