Israeli Premier League Sets New Attendance Record

The Israeli Premier League has set a new attendance record, with over 96,000 fans flocking to stadiums over the weekend. This surpasses the previous record of 83,276 spectators. The highest attendance was recorded at the Maccabi Haifa versus Ironi Tiberias match, drawing 26,213 fans, followed by Hapoel Tel Aviv against Hapoel Petah Tikva with 20,692, and Beitar Jerusalem versus Hapoel Haifa with 21,627.

League chairman Erez Kalfon expressed his excitement and pride, stating, "I am thrilled and proud to see the fans voting with their feet and filling the stadiums in droves so early in the season." He added that breaking the attendance record by the fifth week of the season is a testament to Israeli football and the public's strong interest, competitiveness, and trust in the Winner League. Kalfon also noted the significant presence of women, men, children, and entire families creating an exceptional atmosphere before the season's peak moments.

The attendance figures for the seven weekend matches were: Hapoel Tel Aviv - Hapoel Petah Tikva (20,692), Maccabi Haifa - Ironi Tiberias (26,213), Maccabi Netanya - Maccabi Tel Aviv (12,211), Hapoel Be'er Sheva - Hapoel Kiryat Shmona (12,488), Beitar Jerusalem - Hapoel Haifa (21,627), Bnei Sakhnin - Hapoel Ramat Gan (1,247), and Maccabi Petah Tikva - Hapoel Jerusalem (1,568).
