Israeli Premier League Sets New Attendance Record

The Israeli Premier League has set a new attendance record, with over 96,000 fans flocking to stadiums over the weekend. This figure surpasses the previous record of 83,276 spectators. The record was broken during the fifth week of the season.

The attendance breakdown for the seven matches played was as follows: Hapoel Tel Aviv vs. Hapoel Petah Tikva drew 20,692; Maccabi Haifa vs. Ironi Tiberias attracted 26,213; Maccabi Netanya vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv had 12,211; Hapoel Be'er Sheva vs. Hapoel Kiryat Shmona saw 12,488; Beitar Jerusalem vs. Hapoel Haifa attracted 21,627; Bnei Sakhnin vs. Hapoel Ramat Gan had 1,247; and Maccabi Petah Tikva vs. Hapoel Jerusalem drew 1,568.

Erez Halfon, chairman of the League Management, expressed his excitement and pride, stating, "I am excited and proud to see the fans voting with their feet and filling the stadiums in droves so early in the season. Breaking the spectator record in the fifth round is a badge of honor for Israeli football, and it indicates the immense interest, competitiveness, and full confidence of the public in the Winner League.
