Israel National Insurance Institute Advances Payments for Holidays
The National Insurance Institute in Israel has begun disbursing payments to eligible recipients in September, with adjustments to the payment schedule for millions due to upcoming holidays. On Sunday, September 20, 2026, ahead of Yom Kippur, child allowances will be paid. Additionally, in observance of Sukkot, payments for long-term benefits, including those for the elderly, survivors, work injuries, alimony, disability, mobility, nursing care, and "Prisoners of Zion" families, will be advanced to September 22, 2026.
Earlier in September, in anticipation of Rosh Hashanah, the Institute had already advanced unemployment and income support benefits for September to September 8, 2026. In contrast, the deadline for reporting and paying National Insurance fees for business owners and employers was September 15.
Data indicates that the average benefit paid by the National Insurance Institute has increased since the beginning of 2026, rising by 2.64% due to an increase in the consumer price index. Following this latest update, the average value of all benefit types is approximately 5,280 shekels.
