National Insurance Institute Advances Payouts Ahead of Jewish Holidays
Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) has begun disbursing benefits for September, with several payment dates advanced to accommodate upcoming Jewish holidays. Millions of beneficiaries in Israel will see changes in their payment schedules.
The most significant adjustment involves child allowances, which will be paid on Sunday, September 20, 2026, the eve of Yom Kippur. Additionally, in observance of Sukkot, payments for long-term benefits will be moved up to September 22, 2026. This includes allowances for old age, survivors, work injuries, alimony, disability, mobility, nursing, and "Prisoners of Zion."
Earlier in September, to coincide with Rosh Hashanah, the institute had already advanced payments for unemployment and income support benefits for September to September 8, 2026. The deadline for self-employed individuals and employers to report and pay National Insurance fees was September 15, 2026.
