Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run of Teenager Remains in Custody
The arrest of a driver suspected of fatally hitting a 17-year-old named Amihai Attia has been extended by five days, until Tuesday. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the shopping complex opposite HaHof Village in Hadera on the previous night. Eyewitnesses reported that the event was preceded by a confrontation between the driver, a resident of the village of Arraba, and worshippers attending a Selichot service. The suspect's father appealed for an end to incitement against his son. The suspect's mother stated, "My heart is with the bereaved mother on the other side. My son fell victim to great incitement. He was raised to love other people. They almost lynched him, they shot at him thinking he was a terrorist."
