Teen Killed in Fatal Hit-and-Run After Argument at Hadera Event
A 17-year-old boy from the Samaria region was killed in a hit-and-run incident at the "Village" shopping complex in Hadera on Tuesday night. The teenager had arrived at the location with friends for a Selichot prayer event. An argument reportedly broke out between the boy and his friends and the driver of a commercial vehicle who was unloading goods at the site. The driver, identified as a resident of the village of Kafr Mandi, allegedly struck the teenager with his vehicle and fled the scene.
An armed response team member from the area fired at the fleeing driver, lightly wounding him. The driver continued to drive after the collision and was eventually apprehended in the Central District. The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) was involved in the investigation overnight due to suspicions of a nationalistic motive, but by morning, authorities determined the incident to be criminal in nature.
