Teenager Arrested in Kfar Qassem Rocket Attack Investigation

Israeli police have arrested a minor from the Jaljulia area in connection with a rocket attack on a residential complex in Kfar Qassem. The suspect is believed to have used a stolen army-issue LAW rocket launcher in the incident. The arrest was part of a broader operation targeting the illicit flow of weapons from IDF bases and their use in criminal activities.

During searches at multiple locations, officers discovered two handguns, a Beretta hidden in a kitchen wall and an FN found in an attic, according to Israel Hayom. Additional seized items included a drum magazine, other magazines, and ammunition. In one residence, investigators used specialized equipment to find monitors connected to 14 surveillance cameras, some of which were observing the public area around the building. This equipment has been handed over to Kfar Qassem police for analysis.

The investigation also focuses on the stolen LAW rocket launcher, identified as a combat anti-tank grenade launcher, which police suspect was used in the attack on the Kfar Qassem complex. The arrested teenager was brought before a judge, who ordered his release under restrictive conditions, despite the police's request for extended detention.

The issue of weapons leaking from military bases remains a significant concern for Israeli law enforcement. This case highlights the use of stolen military-grade weaponry, specifically the LAW launcher, in attacks on civilian targets. Police currently state the minor is only a suspect in this specific episode.
