Suspect Released After Military Rocket Fired at Israeli Residential Area

Police in central Israel have released a minor under restrictive conditions in connection with the firing of a stolen military anti-tank missile at a residential area in Kafr Qasim earlier this week. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, saw the missile fired towards a residential compound, though no injuries were reported. Authorities have classified the motive as criminal.

As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers, including detectives and intelligence investigators, along with Border Police (MAGAV) forces, raided several locations in Jaljulia. During these searches, police discovered two concealed handguns, one a Beretta hidden in a double wall in a kitchen and another FN found in an attic. Additional ammunition, including a drum magazine and other magazines, was also seized.

In a separate location within Jaljulia, forces used engineering equipment to locate and confiscate 14 cameras, some of which were positioned to overlook public spaces. These cameras have been transferred to the Kafr Qasim police station for further examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

The minor, a resident of the Jaljulia area, was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the missile firing. While police sought to extend his detention, the court ordered his release under restrictive conditions. The investigation into the incident and the source of the stolen military hardware is continuing.
