Police Arrest Minor, Seize Weapons After Anti-Tank Rocket Fired at Israeli Home

Police in central Israel are investigating the firing of a stolen military "Lau" anti-tank rocket at a residential complex in Jaljulia, a town in the central district. The incident, which occurred on September 18, 2026, resulted in no injuries, and authorities believe it has criminal motives.

As part of the investigation, officers from the Central District and Border Police conducted raids and searches in several locations within Jaljulia. Police described the operation as part of efforts to combat violent disputes, crime, and the proliferation of weapons allegedly leaked from the Israeli military into civilian society.

During the operation, a minor from the area was apprehended on suspicion of involvement in firing the rocket. The minor was brought before a court, where police sought to extend their custody for further investigation. However, the court ordered the minor's release under restrictive conditions.

Searches of a residential complex uncovered two handguns hidden within a home: a "Beretta" pistol concealed in a kitchen wall cavity and an "FN" pistol found in the attic. Authorities also found an ammunition drum, additional magazines, and a quantity of ammunition. Police stated these searches were part of ongoing efforts against those involved in crime and violent disputes in the region.

In a separate search, 14 surveillance cameras were discovered and confiscated. Some of these cameras were positioned to monitor public areas. Police are continuing their investigation into the rocket firing, examining the seized evidence to identify all those involved and trace the origin of the weapon.
