Jaffa Man Indicted for Orchestrating Deadly Car Bombing in Holon

Prosecutors have filed an indictment against a 34-year-old resident of Jaffa, accusing him of orchestrating the assassination of Mustafa Abu Lisan approximately two and a half months ago. The victim was killed by a bomb planted in his vehicle in the city of Holon.

According to the indictment, filed by prosecutor Aviv Bar Orr, the defendant and accomplices planned Abu Lisan's murder by planting an explosive device in his car. They allegedly tracked his movements to identify an opportunity for the assassination.

The indictment details that the defendant and his associates located Abu Lisan, monitored his activities, and then attached a tracking device and the explosive to his vehicle. On the day of the murder, Abu Lisan parked his car near a gas station in Holon. The perpetrators approached the location, and shortly after, remotely detonated the bomb, causing a powerful explosion that killed Abu Lisan.

The blast also severely damaged seven other vehicles, two of which were completely destroyed by fire. The indictment further alleges that the defendant attempted to obstruct the investigation by taking the vehicle used in the crime to a car dealer and asking him to destroy the license plates in an effort to evade law enforcement.

The prosecution has charged the suspect with aggravated murder in collaboration with others, conspiracy to commit a crime, altering a vehicle's identity, and obstructing judicial proceedings. Prosecutors are requesting that the suspect be held in custody until the conclusion of his trial, emphasizing the premeditated nature of the crime, the use of a powerful bomb in a crowded public area during daylight, and the significant danger posed to bystanders.
