Suspect Arrested Over Two Months After Deadly Car Bombing at Gas Station

Israeli police have arrested a 34-year-old resident of Jaffa in connection with the assassination of 25-year-old Mustafa Abu Lassan, who was killed by a car bomb at a gas station in Holon on June 28. The arrest marks a significant development in the investigation, which has been ongoing for over two months.

Abu Lassan was inside his vehicle at the gas station when the explosive device detonated, killing him instantly. The Tel Aviv District Commander, Superintendent Chaim Schergroff, visited the scene shortly after the incident and placed the investigation under the responsibility of the Tel Aviv District Detective Unit (YAMAT).

During searches conducted at the suspect's residence and other locations, officers discovered a handgun, two loaded magazines, and half a kilogram of cocaine near the suspect's home. These findings led to a second arrest: a 30-year-old Jaffa resident apprehended on suspicion of possessing weapons and illegal drugs.

Both suspects have been taken in for questioning. The police are expected to bring them before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Wednesday to request an extension of their detention, with each facing charges relevant to the evidence found against them.
