Man Killed in Car Explosion in Holon Hours After Fatal Bombing in Jaffa
A man in his 30s was killed Sunday in a car explosion on HaLohamim Street in Holon, just hours after another man died in a car bomb blast in Jaffa. Police received reports of the Holon explosion and dispatched large forces to the scene, launching an initial investigation and searching for suspects. Emergency medical teams found the driver unconscious with severe injuries near the burning vehicle. He was rushed to Wolfson Hospital in critical condition but later died.
Earlier that morning, Iyad A'rab, 38, was killed when a bomb placed under his car exploded while he was driving on Saharon Street in Jaffa with his six-year-old son, who was lightly injured. Police forensic teams and bomb squads investigated the scene, with the Tel Aviv District Commander, Chief Superintendent Haim Saragroff, overseeing the response. The investigation was assigned to the Tel Aviv National Unit.
Authorities suspect both incidents are linked to ongoing criminal conflicts in Jaffa, including the recent killing of teenager Ahmed Jabari. The bomb that killed A'rab reportedly weighed about half a kilogram. Police confirmed the motive behind both attacks is criminal in nature and are examining possible connections between the two events.
