Man Charged in Remote-Detonated Car Bombing That Killed Another
A 34-year-old man from Jaffa, Ghazi Ashqar, has been indicted for the murder of Mustafa Abu Lisan, who was killed approximately two and a half months ago when a bomb planted in his car detonated. According to the indictment filed at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, Ashqar and his accomplices allegedly tracked Abu Lisan, planted a tracking device and an explosive device in his vehicle, and then remotely detonated the bomb while the car was at a gas station in Holon.
The explosion resulted in Abu Lisan's death and caused significant damage to seven other vehicles. The indictment details Ashqar's alleged involvement in tracking the victim and planting the explosive device before the remote detonation.
The incident, which occurred about two and a half months prior to the indictment, is the basis for the charges against Ashqar.
