Israel Braces for Cooler Temperatures and Rain on September 18

Israel is set to experience a shift in weather on Friday, September 18, with temperatures expected to drop below seasonal averages, according to the Israeli Meteorological Service. Variable cloudiness will prevail across the country, accompanied by rain in the northern and central regions, extending to the northern Negev. Some areas may experience thunderstorms along with the rainfall, and increased wind is also forecast.

Specific temperature ranges for major cities include Jerusalem (19-26°C), Tel Aviv (22-30°C), and Haifa (23-29°C). In the south, Eilat will see temperatures between 27-38°C, while Beersheba will range from 24-31°C. The Dead Sea area is predicted to have temperatures between 28-37°C.

Other cities will experience similar conditions: Ashkelon and Ashdod (25-30°C), Ariel (21-27°C), Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee coast (22-30°C), and the Golan Heights (19-28°C).

The Mediterranean Sea water temperature is currently 30°C, with waves ranging from 60 to 170 centimeters, making swimming hazardous. Water temperatures at the Sea of Galilee are 30°C, the Red Sea 28°C, and the Dead Sea 30°C.

Wind conditions will vary, with southwestern winds up to 20 km/h expected along the Tel Aviv coast and up to 25 km/h near Haifa. The Sea of Galilee will experience westerly winds up to 20 km/h, and the Eilat Bay area will have northerly winds up to 15 km/h.
