US Grants Iran President Visa for UN Assembly, Denies Palestinians

In contrast, the UN General Assembly approved a request from Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to deliver a pre-recorded speech, despite objections from the United States, Paraguay, and Israel. Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, stated that Abbas cannot expect the international community to ignore his policy of paying stipends to terrorists and their families, and that he is responsible for changing this policy. Danon added that Abbas would send videos instead of attending in person.
This development follows a previous decision by the Trump administration to deny entry visas to Abbas and other senior Palestinian officials for the UN General Assembly. This marks the second consecutive year that the US has blocked a high-level Palestinian delegation from attending the event.
