Scandinavian Airlines Cancels Planned Flights to Israel

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced the cancellation of its planned direct flights between Copenhagen, Denmark, and Tel Aviv, Israel. The airline, which had previously stated it would resume service, cited operational and commercial factors as reasons for the decision, stating that conditions are not yet suitable for launching the route.

SAS, the largest airline in Northern Europe, had initially planned to operate the route three times a week. The company had ceased flying to Israel in March 2016, briefly returning in October 2025 before suspending operations again. SAS acknowledged that the decision might disappoint passengers who had anticipated flying the route.

The airline explained that the initial announcement was based on market assessments at the time, and that new services are subject to ongoing evaluation. SAS stated that flight route planning is a complex process influenced by various operational and commercial factors, and circumstances can change between the announcement and the planned launch. The company added that it would continue to monitor conditions for potential future service to and from Tel Aviv.
