SAS Airlines Abruptly Cancels Planned Return to Israel Flights

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has unexpectedly removed direct flights between Copenhagen and Tel Aviv from its booking systems, just days before they were scheduled to resume on October 26th. Tickets for these flights, which were available for purchase until September 15th, have now disappeared from the SAS booking platform and are no longer accessible through travel agents. The airline had announced its intention to restart the route, operating four times a week with Airbus A320neo aircraft, offering both economy and business class seats. This decision comes as a surprise, particularly after SAS stated only about ten days prior that it planned to return to Israel and increase its flight operations. Passengers who had already purchased tickets for the direct flights are now being offered only connecting options through other European cities. This is not the first time SAS has attempted to re-establish direct service to Tel Aviv. The airline previously resumed flights after a decade-long hiatus in October 2025, but suspended operations on the route several months later. SAS has not yet provided an official explanation for the current cancellation, and its website still lists Tel Aviv as a destination, despite the absence of direct flights in the booking system.
