Israeli Tourists Accosted by Waiter, Then Ejected from Italian Restaurant

Israeli tourists visiting a restaurant near Lake Garda in northern Italy were subjected to a verbal assault by a waiter who, after they requested the Wi-Fi password, called them "animals who murder children." The incident, which occurred in the town of Limone sul Garda, saw the waiter direct his hateful remarks at the group in front of other diners. The restaurant's management sided with the employee, failing to apologize or reprimand him. Instead, they called the police to remove the Israeli customers from the premises.

Local police officers arrived and reportedly handled the situation professionally, with some expressing regret to the Israelis for the distress caused by the establishment's actions. Following the event, the targeted tourists shared detailed warnings on social media and travel groups, including a photo of the waiter, to alert other Israeli travelers to the restaurant. Official complaints have been filed against the business.

This incident is part of a growing trend of hostility towards Israelis and Jews in Italy. In July, a document circulated online encouraging citizens and activists to monitor and report on the presence of Israelis and "Zionists" in various locations. This document was condemned by the Union of Italian Jewish Communities as a "serious escalation in antisemitism," linking it to calls against what its distributors termed "Zionist neo-colonization."
