Israelis Ejected From Italian Restaurant After Requesting Wi-Fi Password

A group of Israelis visiting a restaurant in northern Italy were reportedly subjected to hateful remarks and expelled after asking for the Wi-Fi password. According to the Israelis, the waiter aggressively told them, "You are animals, you kill children." They claim the restaurant owners did not intervene to stop the waiter and instead called the police on them. The incident occurred in the town of Limone Sul Garda at a restaurant named Jacky.

One of the Israelis, Gali Hazan, shared her experience on a Facebook group for travelers in northern Italy, describing the encounter as an "anti-Semitic attack." She stated that after asking for the Wi-Fi password, they received the "you are animals, you kill childrens" response. Hazan added that the police, when they arrived, were apologetic on behalf of the establishment. She reported filing complaints and advised others to avoid the restaurant.

This incident follows a series of recent anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic events reported in Italy. In July, a document circulated in Italy urging citizens to report the presence of "Israelis and Zionists," sparking outrage from the local Jewish community. The Union of Jewish Communities in Italy condemned the document, calling it a "leap forward in anti-Semitism that must not be taken lightly."

Further contributing to the pattern, the Jewish LGBTQ+ organization "Keshet" was reportedly removed from a Pride parade in Rome for refusing to condemn Israel. Israeli tourists have also reported receiving offensive emails from accommodations demanding they denounce the Israeli government and instances of restaurants refusing service upon noticing a Star of David on a customer's social media profile.
