Israeli Tourists Accosted by Waiter, Ejected From Italian Restaurant

An Israeli family visiting a restaurant near Lake Garda in northern Italy was subjected to a verbal assault by a waiter who, after they asked for the Wi-Fi password, called them "animals who murder children." The incident occurred in the town of Limone sul Garda.

Instead of reprimanding the staff member, the restaurant management sided with the waiter, ignored the anti-Israel and antisemitic remarks, and called the police to remove the Israeli customers. Local police officers reportedly handled the situation professionally and expressed regret to the Israelis for the distress caused by the establishment's actions.

Following the incident, the targeted Israelis posted warnings on social media, including a photo of the waiter, to alert other Israeli travelers. Official complaints have been filed against the restaurant.

This event is part of a broader trend of hostility towards Israelis and Jews in Italy, with recent reports of a document circulating that encouraged monitoring and reporting on Israelis and "Zionists." Jewish community leaders in Italy have condemned such actions as a serious escalation of antisemitism.
