IDF Chief of Staff Defends Military Against 'Nez'a' Film's Allegations

The Chief of Staff, Aviv Kochavi, has strongly condemned the anti-Israel film "Nez'a," stating that the military "will not remain silent in the face of lies." Speaking at a special event honoring donors to the Association for the Soldier, Kochavi asserted that the film employs baseless lies and manipulations.

Kochavi defended the integrity and morality of IDF commanders and soldiers, emphasizing the importance of unity against attempts to tarnish the army's reputation. He highlighted the concept of mutual responsibility within Israeli society, linking it to the fight against false propaganda. "The expression 'All of Israel are responsible for one another' is also the deepest expression of the individual's responsibility for the well-being of the entire nation," Kochavi stated, adding that this principle is challenged by efforts to slander IDF soldiers and commanders.

He declared, "This is a national and international mission, and we must stand on every platform and in front of every claimant and say clearly: The IDF is the most moral army in the world." Kochavi contrasted the brutality of Israel's enemies with the IDF's strict adherence to combat norms, even during difficult campaigns.

"In light of deliberate attacks on our civilians, in light of barbaric raids targeting civilian populations, in light of missile launches at city centers, we adhere to IDF values and international law and do everything in our power to avoid harming innocents," he explained, underscoring the operational complexities and ethical commitments of the army.
