Hapoel Jerusalem Pursues Ex-Portland Guard Wesley Amid Injury Search
Hapoel Jerusalem is actively seeking a guard for the upcoming season following an injury to Jared Harper. The team has reportedly approached Blake Wesley, who played for the Portland Trail Blazers last season. However, Wesley has indicated that he intends to try and secure a spot in the NBA through upcoming training camps.
Wesley is recovering from a lengthy injury that impacted his previous season, during which he averaged 4.8 points and two assists per game for Portland. Prior to his time with the Trail Blazers, he played three seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, where he was teammates with Victor Wembanyama and Deni Avdija. His career-high scoring game was 12 points in a loss to Atlanta.
In related news, Lorenzo Brown is also a candidate for Hapoel Jerusalem. Brown is not part of Milan's professional plans and has requested his release from the team. Agents have informed the sports channel that Jerusalem is currently focused on acquiring a player for a short-term contract of only a few months.
