Hapoel Jerusalem Eyes Cameron Payne as Harper Replacement

Hapoel Jerusalem is actively seeking a replacement for Jared Harper, who is expected to be sidelined for three to five months. Among the candidates being considered is American point guard Cameron Payne, 32, standing at 1.88 meters. Payne has prior European experience, having played for Partizan Belgrade in December 2025, where he averaged 12.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in ten EuroLeague games before returning to the NBA.

In the NBA, Payne played for Philadelphia, where he achieved a career-high of 32 points against Memphis on March 10. He was later released by the team a month after that performance. His NBA career also includes stints with Oklahoma City, Chicago, Cleveland, Phoenix (reaching the NBA Finals with them), Milwaukee, and New York. His career averages in the NBA are 7.7 points, 2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

Earlier this month, reports indicated that the Sacramento Kings had invited Payne for a workout, along with guards Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton, to assess their potential fit with the team.
