Jared Harper Has No Exit Clause and Plans to Stay at Hapoel Jerusalem
Reports from Serbian outlet Mozart claimed overnight between Saturday and Sunday that Jared Harper had agreed to join Hapoel Tel Aviv on a three-year deal worth $2 million per season. Hapoel Jerusalem says that is not expected to happen, because Harper is under contract with Jerusalem and has no release clause.
A Jerusalem source responded sharply to the report, saying, "Let Hapoel Tel Aviv deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv." The club says Harper also intends to remain with the team.
The American guard joined Hapoel Jerusalem in the summer of 2024 and signed a new contract in April 2025. Since arriving in Jerusalem, he has become one of the most dominant players in the Israeli Premier League and in the EuroCup.
Harper has been named EuroCup MVP in each of the last two seasons and was also crowned the Israeli Premier League MVP last season. This EuroCup season he averaged 19.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 19 games, while in the league he averaged 18.2 points and 6.7 assists. The report also comes as Hapoel Tel Aviv has already reached an agreement with another Jerusalem player, Kadin Carrington.
