Jared Harper will remain with Hapoel Jerusalem for three more years, the club announced on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The reigning league and EuroCup MVP had drawn interest from multiple teams in Europe, but chose to stay in the Israeli capital through the end of the 2028/29 season.
His salary will be $1.7 million per season. Harper joined Jerusalem in 2024 and quickly became one of the most successful signings in Israeli basketball in recent years. This season he averaged 18.2 points in 23 league games and helped the team reach the semifinals of both the playoff and the State Cup.
Last season, Harper led the club to the playoff final and the cup final, but he has still not won a title with Jerusalem. After signing the extension, he said the club had become “a real home and a family” for him, and that he was excited to keep wearing the Hapoel shirt and playing for the fans. He said he intends to keep giving his all to help the team reach its goals and create “unforgettable moments.”
Coach Sasha Obradovic praised Harper’s value on the court and in the locker room, noting his leadership and calling him one of the team’s most important and influential players. Club owner Matan Adelson said he was proud Harper chose to continue “the next chapter” with the team, describing him as a leader and a cornerstone of the club.
