Jerusalem Says It Will Not Release Jared Harper Amid Tel Aviv Reports

Hapoel Jerusalem was stunned overnight Saturday to Sunday by a Serbian report from "Mozzart Sport" claiming Jared Harper had agreed to a two-year deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv. Jerusalem has not issued an official response yet, but may do so during the day.

The club says Harper is under guaranteed contract for next season with no exit clause, and officials have previously said they would not let him leave for EuroLeague offers outside Israel, "certainly not for an offer from Israel, if such an offer exists at all."

In recent days, Jerusalem people said there had been talks about extending Harper’s contract beyond the coming season in exchange for a salary increase, making the Serbian report a sharp contradiction of what the club says is actually happening.

The report comes as Jerusalem also tried, unsuccessfully during the season, to extend Kadin Carrington’s contract. Unlike Harper, Carrington’s deal was set to expire, and he is expected to sign with Hapoel Tel Aviv for the coming seasons.
