Hapoel Jerusalem Denied Permission to Loan Tamir Blatt by Hapoel Tel Aviv

Following the injury of guard Jared Harper, Hapoel Jerusalem sought to strengthen their roster by acquiring Tamir Blatt on loan. Blatt, who is under a three-year contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv and previously played for Jerusalem, was approached by the capital's team. However, Hapoel Tel Aviv, the reigning league runner-up, refused to allow the transfer. Jerusalem explored the possibility of a one-year contract release due to Harper's injury, but the request was declined.

Harper suffered a thumb ligament tear and is expected to be sidelined for three to five months. Meanwhile, Blatt is currently with the Israeli national team and will miss the upcoming game against Latvia due to injury. Last season, Blatt averaged 7.1 points and 5.2 assists per game in the EuroLeague and was instrumental in Maccabi Tel Aviv's championship run until he was injured during the semifinals against Hapoel Holon.

With Harper's return anticipated between December and February, Hapoel Jerusalem will continue searching for a point guard ahead of the EuroCup season starting on September 29. The refusal by Hapoel Tel Aviv leaves Jerusalem needing to explore other options to fill the gap caused by Harper's injury.
