Meta Launches Paid Subscriptions in Israel for Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp
Meta has launched Meta One in Israel, a new subscription service for its platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, alongside Meta AI. While basic usage remains free, the paid tiers offer advanced AI tools, customization options, and professional features for individuals, creators, and businesses. These new subscription plans are rolling out globally, with specific pricing and features potentially varying by country and platform.
For individual users in Israel, three separate plans are available: Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus, both at NIS 11.99 per month, and WhatsApp Plus at NIS 8.99 per month. Instagram Plus offers features like additional fonts and story previews, while Facebook Plus includes customization options and insights on Reels performance. WhatsApp Plus provides special themes, icons, and effects, with future plans for chat backup storage and scheduling options.
Meta is also introducing bundled plans that combine features across platforms and enhance AI capabilities. The Core plan costs NIS 24.99 per month and includes all features from the individual Plus plans, plus expanded AI tool usage for image and video creation, and AI-powered photo editing. The Premium plan, priced at NIS 60.99 per month, offers even broader access to Meta's AI creation tools and platform features.
For creators and businesses, Meta One offers advanced account management tools, including an upgraded profile display and enhanced follower engagement options. A key feature is the Meta Business Agent, an AI-powered customer service and sales representative that operates 24/7 across Messenger, WhatsApp, and ad-driven messages. This agent can handle inquiries about business hours, products, and initial customer service, learning from existing business assets and user-provided information. It can escalate complex issues to human staff.
Business subscription tiers range from Essential, starting at NIS 53.99 per month, which includes broader Meta Business Agent use on WhatsApp and account verification, to Advanced, starting at NIS 199 per month, adding story scheduling, link additions to posts, detailed audience data, and team access. The Expert and Max tiers, starting at NIS 599 and NIS 1,999 per month respectively, are designed for large-scale operations. The Max plan includes unlimited access to human support representatives for account-related issues, though Meta clarifies this does not guarantee the removal of account blocks.
The launch comes amid user complaints in Israel regarding unjustified account blocks on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, and a lack of human support for resolving issues.
