Meta Launches Subscription Service Bundling Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Features
Meta announced the launch of Meta One, a new subscription service that consolidates premium features across its platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, along with its AI assistant, Meta AI. This initiative aims to monetize the company's significant investments in artificial intelligence and computing infrastructure.
The Meta One service builds upon existing individual "Plus" subscriptions, offering integrated plans for users. In Israel, the "Meta One Core" package will cost approximately 25 shekels per month, providing enhanced design tools for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Plus, along with increased quotas for AI-generated images and videos using Muse models and the Restyle tool.
A premium tier, priced at around 61 shekels monthly, is available for content creators and heavy users of AI tools requiring greater processing power. This tier includes advanced features for WhatsApp, such as unique themes and icons, the ability to pin more chats, and an independent cloud backup option to reduce reliance on Google Drive and iCloud. Premium subscribers will also gain access to "Focus Schedules" for automatically silencing or hiding specific conversations during work or rest periods.
Meta is also introducing business and creator-focused plans, with four management packages ranging from approximately 54 shekels per month for the "Essential" tier to about 1,999 shekels for the "Max" tier. These business plans include verification badges, impersonation protection, and expanded access to the Meta Business Agent. The "Advanced" plan, at around 199 shekels per month, allows scheduling Stories up to 30 days in advance, adding links to posts and Reels, and granting management permissions to team members without sharing account passwords.
A key benefit for subscribers is prioritized customer support, offering direct access to human agents for security issues, account recovery, and addressing incorrect blocking cases. This is particularly relevant given user experiences in Israel with automated systems that have sometimes failed to provide adequate support. However, Meta clarified that subscriptions do not include ad removal; paying users will still see targeted ads in their feeds, and subscription status will not influence post visibility or algorithmic reach. Basic usage of Meta's social networks will remain free.
