AION UT Electric Compact Car Launches in Israel

The electric compact hatchback AION UT has officially launched in Israel, entering the growing market of electric family cars. The AION UT, manufactured by GAC and distributed in Israel by Orion Mobility, is positioned to compete with models like the MG4, Ora 3, and BYD Dolphin. It was first unveiled globally in late 2024.

The AION UT features a front-wheel-drive system with 204 horsepower and 21.4 kgm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 160 km/h. It is equipped with a 60 kWh battery offering a range of 430 kilometers. Charging capabilities include 11 kW AC and 87 kW DC, with the latter capable of charging from 30% to 80% in 24 minutes. The vehicle also supports V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology.

In comparison to the MG4 Urban, the base AION UT model is priced at 116,990 NIS, which is 3,000 NIS cheaper. It offers 44 more horsepower, a slightly lower torque, and is 2.2 seconds faster in the 0-100 km/h sprint. The AION UT also boasts a larger battery by 6 kWh and a 25 km longer driving range. Physically, the AION UT is 12.5 cm shorter than the MG4 Urban, with minor differences in width, height, wheelbase, and a smaller trunk capacity of 340 liters.

The AION UT is available in two trim levels: 'Beat' and 'Vibe'. The 'Beat' trim includes an 8.8-inch digital cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, synthetic leather upholstery, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear air conditioning vents, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree cameras, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The 'Vibe' trim adds driver seat ventilation, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wireless charging pad, rear USB ports, a panoramic sunroof with a shade, an electric tailgate, and electrically folding side mirrors.

Both trim levels share a comprehensive safety suite, including 7 airbags, adaptive cruise control, rear collision warning, blind-spot detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert with braking, door opening warning, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, driver monitoring, and a child presence alert. The AION UT has achieved the maximum 8-star safety rating from the Ministry of Transport and a 5-star rating in European crash tests. Orion Mobility offers an 8-year/160,000 km warranty on the vehicle, with a 200,000 km warranty on the battery, and a service interval of two years or 30,000 km.
