MG4 Urban Electric Car Launches in Israel at Competitive 120,000 Shekel Price
The MG4 Urban electric vehicle has been introduced to the Israeli market at a highly competitive price of 120,000 shekels, positioning it as a strong contender in the affordable electric car segment. This family-sized car offers a premium feel, solid performance, and a range of 405 kilometers, making it suitable for urban and intercity driving. It is notably cheaper than comparable models such as the Skoda Fabia gasoline car and the Toyota Yaris hybrid, while being larger and better equipped.
The MG4 Urban features front-wheel drive, a 54 kWh battery, and a 160 horsepower motor delivering 25.5 kgm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds with a top speed of 160 km/h. Although its acceleration is moderate compared to other electric vehicles, it provides a comfortable and spacious interior with modern amenities like a 12.8-inch multimedia screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated seats, and a 360-degree camera system. Safety is robust, with a five-star Euro NCAP rating and advanced driver assistance features including autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Charging options include a maximum fast charge of 87 kW and a standard 11 kW slow charge. The car is economical to operate, with estimated electricity costs significantly lower than fuel expenses for gasoline or hybrid vehicles. The MG4 Urban’s design is practical but not particularly striking, and while the ride quality is generally comfortable, road noise can be noticeable over rough surfaces.
This launch comes amid a growing electric vehicle market in Israel, where electric cars now hold a 12% market share with expectations to reach 15% by year-end. The MG4 Urban’s affordable price and established brand presence in Israel, where MG has been sold for 15 years, make it a promising option for buyers seeking a budget-friendly electric family car.
