AION UT Electric Compact Car Launches in Israel

Translated & summarized from Mako by baba
The story · English

The electric compact hatchback AION UT has officially entered the Israeli market, joining a growing segment of electric family cars. Imported by Orion Mobility, the AION UT is positioned to compete with models like the MG4, Ora 3, and BYD Dolphin. It boasts a WLTP range of 430 kilometers on a 60 kWh battery and has achieved a maximum safety rating of 8 from the Ministry of Transport, along with a 5-star Euro NCAP score.

The AION UT is powered by a front-wheel-drive system producing 204 horsepower and 21.4 kgm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h. It supports 11 kW AC charging and 87 kW DC fast charging, capable of reaching 80% charge in 24 minutes, and includes V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology.

Compared to the MG4 Urban, the base AION UT model is priced at 116,990 NIS, making it 3,000 NIS cheaper. It also offers 44 more horsepower and a 25 km longer range, though its torque is slightly lower. The AION UT is 12.5 cm shorter than the MG4 Urban but has a slightly longer wheelbase.

The AION UT is available in two trim levels: 'Beat' and 'Vibe'. The 'Beat' trim includes an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, synthetic leather upholstery, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree cameras, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The 'Vibe' trim adds driver seat ventilation, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wireless charging pad, rear USB ports, a panoramic sunroof, an electric tailgate, and electrically folding side mirrors.

Both trims feature a comprehensive safety suite, including 7 airbags, adaptive cruise control, rear collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear cross-traffic alert with braking, door opening warning, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, driver monitoring, and a child presence alert. AION offers an 8-year/160,000 km warranty on the vehicle, with a 200,000 km warranty on the battery, and a service interval of two years or 30,000 km.
