Aion UT Electric Hatchback Launches in Israel Starting at NIS 116,990
Union Group's Aion Mobility is introducing the Aion UT urban family hatchback to the Israeli market. Developed at GAC's design center in Milan, the new electric hatchback boasts a youthful design, a modern and well-equipped interior, and a spacious cabin for its class. The Aion UT is priced from NIS 116,990 and is aimed at consumers seeking a compact electric car suitable for city driving, appealing to young families and individuals who don't require a larger family vehicle.
The Aion UT measures 4.27 meters in length with a height of 1.57 meters and a wheelbase of 2.75 meters. Its long wheelbase contributes to its generous interior space, featuring a flat rear floor and wide-opening doors for easy access, particularly for installing child seats. The trunk offers 340 liters of storage, and the cargo lip is set at 685 mm for easier loading. The vehicle comes standard with a spare tire and includes 24 storage compartments within the cabin.
Powered by a 204 horsepower electric motor with front-wheel drive, the Aion UT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 km/h. It is equipped with a 60 kWh net capacity lithium iron phosphate battery, providing a combined WLTP range of up to 430 km. AC charging supports up to 11 kW, while DC fast charging can reach up to 87 kW, with the company stating a 30%-80% charge takes approximately 24 minutes and a 10%-80% charge takes about 32 minutes. The car can also supply external devices with up to 3.3 kW of power from its battery.
Inside, the Aion UT features a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by a Qualcomm SA8155 chip, complemented by an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The multimedia system offers full Hebrew interface support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air software updates. Remote vehicle monitoring and climate control are accessible via the Aion app. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear disc brakes, and a Bosch braking system calibrated to reduce motion sickness. The vehicle has achieved a maximum safety rating of 8 out of 8 from Israel's Ministry of Transport and five stars from Euro NCAP.
The Aion UT is available in two trims: the 'Bit' version for NIS 116,990 and the 'Wave' version for NIS 121,990. The 'Wave' trim adds a panoramic glass roof with an electric shade, an electric tailgate, power-folding mirrors, ventilated driver's seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated windshield, rear USB port, and a cooled 50W wireless charging pad. Aion offers an eight-year warranty for both the vehicle and its battery. Aion entered the Israeli market in September of the previous year and has delivered approximately 1,500 vehicles in less than a year, positioning the brand seventh in electric vehicle sales in Israel.
