Hyundai has launched the Ioniq 6 N in Israel, about a year after the sporty electric sedan was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It arrives at a price of 400,000 shekels, roughly matching the Ioniq 5 N’s launch price in June 2024. Hyundai’s 5 N later rose to 440,000 shekels, then briefly left the market, and is now back in Israel at 410,000 shekels.
The Ioniq 6 N uses the same E-GMP platform and dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup as the Ioniq 5 N. The front motor produces 226 hp and the rear 383 hp, for a combined 609 hp, or up to 641 hp for a limited time with the red N Grin Boost button on the steering wheel. Hyundai says the sedan reaches 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, or 3.2 seconds with launch control, and tops out at 257 km/h.
Braking hardware includes 400 mm front discs with four-piston calipers and 360 mm rear discs with single-piston calipers, mounted behind 20-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero 5 tires in 275/35 size. The car also gets a new electronically controlled suspension geometry with sensors to adjust damping, plus N e-Shift, torque vectoring with a rear limited-slip differential, drift mode, N Ambient Shift Light, N Active Sound+, and a track management system with lap-time and performance analysis. The 800-volt system is paired with an 84 kWh lithium-ion battery for up to 487 km of range, and DC fast charging at up to 350 kW takes the battery from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. Hyundai also added an N Battery thermal-management system for drag, sprint and endurance use.
Compared with the Tesla Model 3 Performance, Hyundai says the American car is one-tenth of a second quicker, has a 5 km/h higher top speed, and offers 84 km more range, but the Ioniq 6 N is said to have better handling. The Tesla is also more than 116,000 shekels cheaper. The Ioniq 6 N comes with a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless charging, 360-degree cameras, head-up display, heated and ventilated sports seats, heated steering wheel and rear seats, panoramic roof, Bose audio, automatic parking, remote control, and a broad safety suite. It received the maximum score of 8 in the Transport Ministry index and 5 stars in Euro NCAP. Warranty coverage is 5 years or 100,000 km for the car and 7 years or 150,000 km for the battery, whichever comes first.
