Nissan brings the new Qashqai e-POWER to Israel with up to 1,200 km range
Nissan has launched the new Qashqai e-POWER in Israel, the next generation of one of the most familiar and popular crossovers locally and worldwide. The model uses Nissan’s third-generation e-POWER system, a hybrid setup in which the gasoline engine does not drive the wheels directly, but generates electricity for the electric motor. The result, Nissan says, is an electric-like driving feel, with immediate response, smooth operation and quiet performance, without dependence on charging stations.
According to the manufacturer, the new Qashqai consumes 4.5 liters per 100 km and can travel up to 1,200 km on a full tank, with no external charging required. Nissan says this gives it an edge over many plug-in hybrids, which may offer strong claimed range figures but still require charging infrastructure and advance planning. The system also includes regenerative braking, which converts kinetic energy into electricity and feeds it back to the battery.
Performance is not sacrificed, Nissan says the powertrain delivers 205 horsepower and 33.7 kgm of torque. The company says this provides strong, immediate response for acceleration, overtaking and pulling away from a stop, while retaining the convenience of refueling at any standard gas station. The cabin is described as comfortable and intuitive, with a good driving position, clear controls, improved noise insulation, retuned suspension and steering, and a more mature, comfortable road feel for long trips.
Equipment is generous even in the base trim. Standard features include a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360-degree cameras, a large digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting and seats trimmed in fabric and quality vegan leather. Higher trims add a panoramic roof, head-up display, power driver’s seat, adaptive lighting and hands-free tailgate opening. Safety equipment includes seven airbags and active systems such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, lane departure intervention and automatic braking in reverse. Launch pricing starts at 189,990 shekels.
