Israel’s Auto Market Sees New Hybrid, Luxury Trim, and Price Cuts
Several new and revised vehicles went on sale in Israel over the past week, including a hybrid Nissan Qashqai, cheaper entry versions of Genesis SUVs, a sharply discounted BMW M price list, and the passenger version of Peugeot’s Partner van, called the Rifter.
The refreshed third-generation Nissan Qashqai, updated after its August 2024 facelift, now adds a hybrid powertrain priced from 195,000 shekels, with a 5,000-shekel launch discount for three months. That is 13,000 shekels less than the pre-facelift model. It uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and electric motor for 156 hp, accelerates to 100 kph in 7.9 seconds, and returns 22.2 km per liter. It will be sold in three trims, with the top Tekna Eco adding synthetic leather, a power driver seat with memory, a head-up display, a power tailgate and 19-inch wheels.
Genesis added lower-priced base trims for the GV70 and GV80. The GV70’s new Elegant trim costs 360,000 shekels, 40,000 less than Premium, while the GV80’s new Exclusive trim starts at 490,000 shekels, 86,000 less than Elegant. The cheaper versions give up features such as seat ventilation, power steering-wheel adjustment, 360-degree cameras, automatic parking, blind-spot display, and driver fatigue alerts.
BMW’s importer also published a revised M price list and launched the M2 xDrive at 530,000 shekels. Prices were cut by 160,000 shekels on the M2 Carbon, 235,000 on the M3 Competition and M4 Competition, and 175,000 on the M4 Convertible. The X6 also got cheaper, with some trims reduced by up to 310,000 shekels and a new M60i M-Sport Pro at 800,000 shekels. Peugeot, meanwhile, began selling the Rifter in Israel as a family-focused passenger version of the Partner, offered as a five-seat short model for 179,000 shekels or a seven-seat long model for 190,000 shekels.
