Israel Extends Open Fire Ban Through September 2026 Due to Extreme Fire Risk

Israel's Fire and Rescue Commissioner, Chief Fire Officer Eyal Caspi, has signed an order extending the ban on lighting fires in open areas across the country. The prohibition will remain in effect until midnight on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. This decision was made due to extreme weather conditions that significantly increase the likelihood of fires.

The ban applies to all of Israel, with specific exceptions. These include the area south of roads 25 and 34, and the region extending from Kibbutz Yad Mordechai and Kibbutz Nachal Oz to the Arava Junction. The order prohibits open fires in these designated areas.

While general open fires are forbidden, the order allows for technical work that involves burning, provided it adheres to specific directives. Additionally, lighting fires within designated facilities for food preparation or heating, such as barbecue grills, remains permitted.
