Israel Extends Open Fire Ban Nationwide Due to Extreme Fire Risk
The Commissioner of the Israeli Fire and Rescue Services, Chief Fire Officer Eyal Caspi, has extended the ban on lighting fires in open areas across Israel until midnight on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The decision was made due to "extreme conditions that increase the likelihood of fires occurring" throughout the country.
The ban applies to all of Israel, with the exception of areas south of roads 25 and 34 in the south of the country, specifically from the Yad Mordechai junction, through Nahal Oz, to the Arava junction. The order also states that technical work involving burning or fire will be permitted if conducted according to the צו's instructions. Additionally, lighting fires within designated facilities for food preparation or heating, such as barbecues, remains allowed.
