Israel Bans Open Fires Due to Extreme Heatwave Until End of September

Eyal Caspi, head of the Fire and Rescue Services "Kabaut ve'Atzala," has issued a nationwide ban on open fires due to extreme weather conditions. The prohibition is in effect until midnight on September 30 across the entire country, with specific exceptions for areas south of highways 25 and 34, namely the Merhavim-Nachal Oz-Arava Junction road.

The ban encompasses all forms of open fires as defined by regulations, activities involving equipment that generates open flames or sparks, and the burning of vegetation in open areas. However, fires are permitted in designated areas equipped by local authorities, the Nature and Parks Authority, or the Jewish National Fund, provided that explicit permission from the Fire and Rescue Services is obtained and all stipulated conditions are met.

Specifically, the use of barbecues (mangal) is allowed in their designated spots, as long as the fire is contained strictly within the barbecue itself.
