Israel Bans Open Fires Nationwide Amid Extreme Fire Risk

The Israel Fire and Rescue Services announced a nationwide ban on open fires in open areas, effective immediately until midnight on Tuesday, September 15. The measure was enacted due to extreme weather conditions that significantly increase the likelihood of fires.

The prohibition applies to the entire country, with the exception of the area south of roads 25 and 34. This excluded zone encompasses regions from Yad Mordechai and Nahal Oz up to the Arava Junction.

The ban specifically targets the lighting of fires in open, unbuilt areas, aiming to prevent the spread of potential wildfires during this high-risk period.
