Israel Extends Open Fire Ban Through September Due to Extreme Conditions
The Commissioner of the Fire and Rescue Services, Chief Superintendent Eyal Caspi, has extended the ban on lighting fires in open areas across Israel until Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at midnight. This decision was made due to extreme weather conditions that significantly increase the likelihood of fires.
The order applies to all of Israel, with specific exceptions noted for areas south of roads 25 and 34, from the Yad Mordechai junction, through Nahal Oz, to the Arava junction. The prohibition covers open fires and technical work that could generate combustion or flames, unless conducted according to specific directives.
However, lighting fires within designated facilities for preparing or heating food, such as barbecue grills, remains permitted under the terms of the order.
