Israeli Man Settles Sex Toy Smuggling Case in Jordan

An Israeli traveler successfully resolved a criminal case in Jordan related to attempting to import a large quantity of adult products from Thailand. The incident began in November 2025 when the man arrived at a Jordanian airport from Thailand and used the "green channel" for undeclared goods. Customs officials, however, selectively inspected his luggage.

During the inspection, authorities seized 28 sex toys, 15 packages of potency-enhancing products, and 15 boxes of a popular "honey aphrodisiac." The total market value of these items was estimated at approximately 600 Jordanian dinars. The customs prosecutor charged the traveler with tax evasion and illegal goods trafficking.

Initially, a court found the man guilty of smuggling, sentencing him to a 1,000 dinar criminal fine, a 1,400 dinar customs penalty, and confiscation of all his belongings, while acquitting him of tax charges. The Israeli appealed the verdict, asserting his innocence and seeking to settle the dispute directly with the customs department.

Subsequently, customs representatives informed the court that an agreement had been reached and all fines paid. Citing Jordanian law that allows for the termination of proceedings upon out-of-court settlement, the judge officially closed the case.
