Israeli Settles Customs Case in Jordan Over Sex Toys

An Israeli national faced legal trouble in Jordan after customs officials discovered 28 sex toys, 15 packages of potency enhancers, and 15 packages of "honey for desire" in his luggage upon his arrival from Thailand in November 2025. He had chosen to pass through the "green lane," typically for travelers with nothing to declare.

The Jordanian Customs Authority accused him of smuggling and tax evasion. Initially, the court convicted him of customs smuggling, imposing a 1,000 Jordanian dinar criminal fine and a 1,400 dinar customs fine, in addition to the standard customs and taxes. The court also ordered the confiscation of the seized items.

However, the Israeli contested the ruling made in his absence and requested time to reach a settlement with the Jordanian Customs Authority. Subsequently, customs informed the court that a compromise had been reached, and the Israeli had paid the agreed-upon fines.

Following this, the authority requested the termination of the proceedings, which the court granted. The ruling noted that Jordanian law permits settlements even for smuggling offenses after a case has reached court. It remains unclear if the seized items, including the sex toys and potency products, were returned to the Israeli, as the original judgment ordered their confiscation and deemed them unfit for release into the local market.
