Northern District Police officers arrested a 19-year-old man from Shagav Shalom on Highway 6 over the weekend during an initiative operation. During a search of his vehicle, officers became suspicious of the driver and conducted a thorough search.
After removing the spare tire, police discovered a black bag containing numerous packages. The packages were weighed and found to contain over six kilograms of suspected hashish, with an estimated street value of hundreds of thousands of shekels, according to police.
The suspect was arrested and taken for questioning. His detention was extended by the Magistrate's Court in Nazareth until September 17. Police stated that the Northern District officers will continue to combat crime using all available means.
