Teen Arrested With Over 6 Kilograms of Hashish
Police in northern Israel arrested a 19-year-old man from the Bedouin town of Shqib al-Salam on September 11, 2026, on suspicion of possessing a large quantity of drugs. The arrest occurred during an initiative by Northern District police officers who stopped a vehicle driven by the suspect inside the Yokneam Tunnels on Highway 6.
During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a black bag hidden in the spare tire compartment. Inside the bag were numerous packages believed to contain hashish. The suspect was taken into custody for questioning.
Following the discovery, the packages were weighed and found to contain over 6 kilograms of hashish, with an estimated street value of hundreds of thousands of shekels. The suspect's detention was extended by the Nazareth-Pardes Hanna Magistrate's Court until September 17, 2026, after the end of the holiday period.
