Police Discover Over 6 Kilos of Drugs in Car During Holiday Traffic Stop

During a proactive police operation on Highway 6 on the evening of September 11, officers stopped a vehicle and arrested its 19-year-old driver, a resident of the southern town of Shagav Shalom. The stop occurred near the Yizre'el Valley tunnels. During an initial inspection, officers became suspicious of the driver and conducted a thorough search of the car.

The search revealed a large quantity of drugs hidden behind the spare tire. Officers removed the spare tire and discovered a black bag containing numerous packages, suspected to be hashish. The suspect was arrested and taken for questioning.

Following the discovery, the packages were weighed, revealing over 6 kilograms of drugs. Police estimate the street value of the confiscated narcotics to be hundreds of thousands of shekels. The suspect's detention was extended by the Nazareth Magistrate's Court until September 17, following the holiday period.

Police stated that officers from the Northern District continue their operations against crime, utilizing all available resources, and are committed to prosecuting offenders to the fullest extent of the law.
