Man Arrested With Over 6 Kilograms of Drugs in Car Trunk
Police announced on Monday the arrest of a 19-year-old resident of Shqib al-Salam who was found with over 6 kilograms of drugs hidden in his car's trunk. The arrest occurred on September 11, 2026, during a proactive operation by Northern District police officers. The vehicle was stopped in the Yokenam tunnels on Highway 6.
During a search of the car, officers discovered a black bag containing numerous packages suspected to be hashish, concealed within the spare tire compartment. The suspect was apprehended and taken for interrogation.
Following the discovery, the packages were weighed, confirming they contained more than 6 kilograms of narcotics, estimated to be worth hundreds of thousands of shekels on the black market. The suspect's detention was extended by the Magistrate Court in Nazareth until September 17, 2026.
