Tel Aviv Police Arrest Man With Massive Drug Cache in City Apartment
Tel Aviv police officers from the city’s special unit stopped a 22-year-old man at a checkpoint in Jaffa after detecting a strong smell of drugs emanating from his vehicle. Upon searching the car, officers found various suspected narcotics including ecstasy and crystal meth. The suspect admitted to possessing additional drugs stored at his apartment on Kibbutz Galuyot Street in Tel Aviv and led police there.
A search of the apartment uncovered a large quantity of suspected drugs: 10.5 grams of ketamine, 97.9 grams of a drug called "Doctor," 28 grams of MD, 84 ecstasy pills, 86 ampoules, 280 grams of suspected psychedelic mushrooms, 11 bottles of GHB (known as a date rape drug), 19 bottles containing ketamine totaling 840 grams, 29 packets of a substance called "Kamagra," and 468 grams of suspected marijuana. Authorities also seized 11,320 shekels in cash and hundreds of flyers for drug distribution.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Jaffa police station for further investigation before being remanded in custody. Police plan to request an extension of his detention at court on Thursday morning. All seized substances will undergo laboratory testing as the investigation continues.
