Man Arrested in North Tel Aviv for Suspected Drug Trafficking with Over 90 Cannabis Packages

Israeli police arrested a resident of Petah Tikva on Thursday night in north Tel Aviv on suspicion of drug trafficking. During a vehicle search in the HaTzafon HaHadash neighborhood, officers found approximately 90 distribution bags containing suspected cannabis in various forms, including cookies believed to contain drugs. The total weight of the seized substances exceeded one kilogram, and 4,050 shekels in cash were also discovered in the car.

Police became suspicious of the vehicle during patrol and observed what appeared to be a transfer of a bag between two individuals, who were then detained for questioning. The main suspect was arrested and taken for investigation. He is expected to be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for a hearing today.

This arrest follows a similar case last month in Petah Tikva, where police uncovered an improvised cannabis distribution operation in a residential apartment. Approximately 12 kilograms of suspected drugs were seized, and a couple in their twenties was arrested for packaging and distributing cannabis disguised as sweets.
